About the Program
This personalised, one-on-one mentorship ensures you get targeted guidance tailored to your unique needs. You’ll have the flexibility to schedule sessions with Alison at your convenience, whether that’s over multiple weeks leading up to your show or in just two days – the choice is yours!
The program will help you:
- Increase your marketing and communications knowledge
- Build your confidence to create and execute effective marketing plans
- Receive tailored feedback and advice on refining your approach

Additionally, the mentoring program will launch a private Facebook group exclusively for selected producers, creating a space where you can connect with others, ask questions, share ideas, and access valuable resources and updates throughout your mentorship experience.
About Alison
Alison Welburn has over 30 years of expertise in marketing, communications, and business development within the arts sector, spanning theatre, dance, publishing, visual arts, broadcasting, and festival development.
As a mentor and lecturer, Alison has worked with a range of organisations, including THEATRE 180, Black Swan Theatre Company, Fringe World Perth, PACA and STRUT Dance to name a few and has lectured in arts management at WAAPA, Curtin University, and Murdoch University. She is also the co-founder of Perth International Cabaret Festival. Her extensive experience will provide you with personalised insights and feedback to elevate your marketing efforts.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for this mentorship program, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be an emerging or mid-career producer based in Western Australia.
- Have a show or production ready to be promoted from August 2025 onwards.
- Participate in surveys related to the mentorship program.
- Have previously participated in a CircuitWest initiative, for example:
- Touring Mentorship Program
- Pitch Good Session
- WA Showcase Pitching Program

Investment
Thanks to the support from CircuitWest and the State Government – Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, participation in the program is $25 + GST.
To Apply
Please submit your expressions of interest by 5pm Wednesday 21st May 2025.
You may select your preferred intake period for the program:
- First Intake: July to September 2025
- Second Intake: October to December 2025
