If you look for them, every town has untold stories. The walls have ears, and the buildings hold your stories and you hold theirs. UP THERE encourages you to look up and look out to uncover the stories within.

Brought to life by award winning team Tay Conway, William Gammel, Leah Robyn, Rebecca Riggs-Bennett, and the people of your town, UP THERE (Insert Town Here) is a site responsive audio walking tour of places and stories within your town and community. This work will interrogate place, space, community and people’s ability to occupy these spaces.

Activate the spaces in your community with the stories gone before and the stories of the now.

Company Bio

UP THERE Collective is an emerging theatre and storytelling group founded by Tay Conway, William Gammel and Leah Robyn in 2023 (with Rebecca Riggs-Bennett joining in 2024). The Collective started creating UP THERE (Walyalup) with support from WAAPA and FAC in 2023. In 2024 with support from The City of Fremantle and FAC, the Collective further developed the project and independently produced the show for its premier season. For this they were nominated for a number of PAWA Awards of which they won the awards for Best Sound Design and Best Independent Production. In 2025 UP THERE Collective will be presenting the second iteration of the work UP THERE (Boorloo) with The Blue Room Theatre.
