International Opportunities for the Performing Arts

The Australia Council is thrilled to announce six new international programs for 2016/17 that are now open to artists, producers and performing arts organisations nationally.

Opportunites on offer include attendance at showcases, art fairs, performing arts markets, events and festivals in New York, Yokohama, Shanghai, Seoul, Valencia and Madison, Wisconsin.

China Shanghai International Arts Festival and Performing Arts Fair (ChinaSPAF) 2016
An integral part of the China Shanghai International Arts Festival, ChinaSPAF connects performing artists, organisations, and arts professionals from China and the Asia-Pacific region, as well as other parts of the world. We will lead a delegation of 10 Australians at ChinaSPAF from 11–16 October 2016.

Performing Arts Market in Seoul (PAMS) 2016
Working in conjunction with international art markets and art organisations globally, PAMS 2016 offers a diverse program of showcases, booth exhibitions, symposiums and networking programs. The Australia Council will lead an Australian delegation at PAMS, including a booth presence, from 4–8 October 2016. 

IETM Autumn Plenary 2016 Valencia, Spain
IETM is a network of over 500 performing arts organisations and individual members working in the contemporary performing arts worldwide. The Australia Council will lead a delegation of six Australians at the IETM Autumn Plenary, which includes attendance at a series of workshops and networking sessions, as well as an artistic program, from 3–5 November 2016.

New York in January 2017
The Australia Council will support eight Australians to attend key performing arts events in New York in January 2017, including the APAP Conference, the International Society for Performing Arts (ISPA) Congress, the Public Theater’s Under the Radar Festival and Performance Space 122’s COIL Festival.

Tokyo Performing Arts Meeting in Yokohama, Japan 2017
Australian performing artists, producers, and arts organisations working in emerging and experimental practice are invited to attend TPAM from 11–19 February 2017. The Australia Council will lead a delegation of five Australians, who will participate in a program of showcases, industry meetings, and networking events.

International Performing Arts for Youth (IPAY) Showcase 2017, Wisconsin
The annual IPAY Showcase is the premiere performing arts event in North America, dedicated to promoting the best in international performing arts for young audiences. The Australia Council will lead a delegation of eight Australians at IPAY from 18–21 January 2017.
